How We Are Paid: The Money Behind This Site, Stated Plainly
This site earns money when a reader follows an offer from the comparison board and deposits with the operator behind it. This page explains exactly how that works, what is bought and what is not, so you can read everything else here knowing where the money sits.
The short version of the arrangement
Golden Reel Wins is a paid-placement site. When a reader opens an offer through the comparison board that appears on our pages, and later deposits with that operator, the operator pays the site a fee. Nothing is charged to the reader at any point; the money moves between operator and site. The fee is how the pages, the calculators and the modelled figures are funded, and the arrangement is the same at this end of the market generally: comparison sites of this kind live on operator payments, and any that claim otherwise should be read with care.
Because the fee depends on a deposit, the operator pays for visibility rather than for praise. That distinction matters to how the site is built, and the rest of this page sets out what money can and cannot change here.
Board placement is bought, and the order is commercial
The comparison board that appears on these pages is paid real estate. Operators buy their placement on it, and the order in which offers appear is a commercial order, decided by the arrangements in place rather than by an independent measurement of quality or value. A row near the top is there because its operator paid for that position, not because the site independently concluded it beats the rows beneath it.
We say this plainly because comparison listings elsewhere often imply a ranking they cannot support. There is no neutral leaderboard here. The board is advertising space with terms attached, and the honest way to use it is to treat every row as a paid listing and then do your own costing, which is what the calculators and figures on each page exist for.
The editorial score is our judgement, not a licence
Each row on the board carries a score out of ten in a gold ring. That score is an internal editorial judgement made by this site, weighing modelled cost figures, published terms and the general character of the offer class. It is opinion, built on a stated method, and it is not a certification of any kind. No regulator, no licensing body and no independent auditor stands behind it, and the operators concerned have no licence from the Gambling Commission in any case.
The score can move when terms change, and terms at these operators change often. Read it as one site’s working estimate on the day of writing, verify the current terms on the operator’s own page, and never treat the number in the ring as a substitute for reading the bonus terms yourself.
How the links are built
The outbound links from this site to operators do not go straight to the operator. They pass through an internal redirect on our own domain, and that redirect responds with noindex and nofollow headers. Practically, this means the links are not treated by search engines as endorsements and are not followed for ranking purposes; they exist for readers who choose to click, and the redirect lets us keep the routing consistent as operators change their addresses.
The cloaking is a technical detail, but we name it because it is the kind of thing a reader should be able to find out. Clicking a board row sends you onward through our infrastructure first, and the commercial relationship begins at that click.
What payment does not change
No payment from any operator changes what the facts pages on this site state. The licence position stands regardless of who pays: the offers listed across these pages hold no licence from the Gambling Commission, sit outside GAMSTOP, offer no access to a Commission-approved dispute route, and carry weaker fund protection and thinner limit tools than a licensed British operator must provide. Those statements come from the statute and the regulator’s own publications, not from the operators, and no fee touches them.
The same holds for the modelled figures. Wagering multipliers, per-spin values and payout windows on these pages are presented as category-typical assumptions with the working shown, and payment does not alter them. Where an operator’s own terms differ from our model, the operator’s terms govern, which is why every page asks you to verify on the operator’s page before you deposit.
